This study aimed to identify the level of Psychological Hardiness and Emotional Security based on
the investigation of criminal cases , to discover the relationship between them based on the same
cases and to verify the existence of statistically significant differences in both the Psychological
Hardiness and Emotional Security according to the Demographic variables (age - education -
Marital Status - years of experience). The researcher used the Relational descriptive approach.
The study sample consisted of (100) criminal investigator of the police stations in the province of
Jeddah Ameasure of Psychological Hardiness. Preparation: Makhemar (2002), and a measure of
Emotional security. Preparation: Dulaim et al. (1993). The use of duplicates and arithmetic
averages, Pearson correlation coefficients, ANOVA test, and Scheffe test. The study found that
the level of psychological Hardiness when based on the criminal investigation was between
moderate to high, and the interval of psychological hardiness that affected the criminal
investigators was commitment, challenge, and then control . The study also revealed a good level
and medium level in the emotional security based on the criminal investigation. A positive
relationship between Psychological Hardiness and Emotional Security was found, the more the
criminal investigator enjoys psychological hardiness it was often an indication of the sense of
psychological security. The results of the study showed the lack of statistically significant
differences in Psychological Hardiness and nominally degrees when based on the criminal
investigation due to the variable age. While there are statistically differences in the overall degree
of Psychological Hardiness and in commitment and challenge based on the criminal investigation
due to the variable level of education for the benefit of obtaining the advanced studies. There are
also statistically differences in the overall degree of Psychological Hardiness and in the three
intervals( the commitment, control, and challenge) based on the criminal investigation due to the
variable marital status for the benefit of married couples. While there are statistical differences in
the overall degree of Psychological Hardiness and (commitment, control and challenge) based on
the criminal investigation due to the variable years of experience for the benefit of those whose
their experience from 15 to 20 years. The study results showed that No statistically significant
differences in the psychological security found when based on a criminal investigation due to the
variable (Age - the level of education - and marital status), while no statistically differences found
when based on a criminal investigation into the level of a sense of emotional security due to the
variable years of experience for the benefit of whose their experience less than 5 years and whose
experience 5 to 9 years. For what we have reached in the current study, the researcher
recommends the following: Implementation of outreach programs , preventive and curative one
especially for those who had newborn experience focusing on experiences that will promote
Psychological Hardiness and Emotional Security based on the criminal investigation and raising
their efficiency in the face of stressful events, and to strengthen their psychological stability.
Scientific and cultural seminars include guidance directions should be established, and its
emphasis on the positive and effective methods in the face of the pressures of life, criminal
investigator is required to attend these seminars and to open training courses, especially in their
early years of enrollment in this field |
