Abstract : The research aims to make a highlight on the importance of using value chain analysis as an approach to reduce costs from a strategic point of view to achieve continuous competitive advantages, as well as recognizing what extent of applying this analysis during the life cycle of production in the Saudi industrial companies in Jeddah. The value chain analysis determine and manages the activities which generate and add a value to the product from the from the pre-production to post-recycling stages, besides getting rid of the activities that do not add a value to the product in order to achieve a competitive advantage in recent time, and for the company long term leading to produce a product with a lower cost and better quality. Study field data was gathered by a questionnaire whose items were formulated with the help of the of the previous studies ideas concerning value chain analysis. The questions of the questionnaire are divided into three parts. the first part is related to general questions based on the person who is going to fill in the questionnaire , the Second part is related to general information about the company such as the industry nature , grand assets , competition degree , annual sales , exported sales percentage , project age , producing the products automatically , and the third part is connected to the costs System. This study proved that many of the industrial companies don't use the value chain analysis to reduce the cost. in addition, there is a significant relation between applying the value chain introductory analysis and industrial nature, competition degree, annual Sales, exported sales percentage, and producing the products automatically. The researcher recommends the importance of applying value chain analysis in Saudi industrial companies for its benefit in achieving the strategic reduction of cost during the stages of product’s life cycle of. This in its turn leads to support the competing situation. The researcher recommends of the importance of convincing managements to replace traditional accounting methods with modern ones in order to enable Saudi industrial companies to continue in such tough competition
