Abstract : This study objective is to know the functional efficiency of using the interior space in Jeddah houses. And to know the awareness of Saudi families in equalizing between the social requirements, designing, the economic status and to content with the minimum quantity of built building. The main problem in how to answer the question: what is the rate of the functional efficiency of the interior space in Jeddah? To answer this question the study followed the descriptive and analysis style and applied this style on random sample of (219) families own special houses (Villas) and the researcher used the following tools to reach the objective of the study: A form for general information about the family. A form for the sample of the house. A form for estimating the functional efficiency used to use the most of different interior Space. The researcher came to know that the efficiency been used in medium range in the sample houses, and there are some factors affecting on the functional efficiency of the interior space like: The type of the house. And the researcher advised the families to make an Balance between the social requirements and designing of internal space in the house and the economic status, so as to apply the idea of the economic house (Simplified house)
