Abstract : This study highlights the color richness of the poetic collection of Ibn Al-Mu'taz as well as his ability in the skilful using of his talent and artistic efforts that reflected the richness of the Arabic language in terms of both colors usage and capability of the Arabs in distinguishing between colors. Since this type of study, which tackles aesthetic aspects of color factor, exceeds the mere limits of the apparent beauty and exposes the deepness of the relation between color and art as they are vividly portrayed in Ibn Al-Mu'taz poetry, it reveals his skillfulness in creating due harmony between color factor and other ones composing the poetic image. Moreover, it confirms the value of the color fator in reflecting the experiment and personality characteristics of the poet. The study indicates color significance and its role in the poetic structure process, from which aesthetic aspects of color in Ibn Al-Mu'taz poetry were carefully selected as a title for this study. It also includes indication of color in relation to linguistic status and relevant studies, as well as to basic, secondary and neutral colors as well as to color environments that comprise man (woman), natural and industrial environments, as well as carrying out a balanced study between them. Color indicative tendencies cover the aspects of color employment in his poetry, role of the language in formulating the color images including aspects of contrast, contract, color duality, positive and negative colors, blending and gradualism. They also included the color indications of the poet, especially (psychological, social, traditional and political aspects). The study was concluded by many results but the most significant ones include that color is considered as the most distinguishing factor of the image in Ibn Al-Mu'taz poetry, that color components played a number of functions inside his poetic images and that they added to them high value and special taste. At the end of the study there is a list containing sources, references, biographies and contents.
