Abstract : In this work, we will construct some of mathematical models which obey one of the recent theory of thermoelasticity. Through that models, we will study the heat conductive and mechanical waves when the elastic body is subjected to mechanical or/and thermal loading. The work will includes two models. In the first model, an isotropic elastic medium with temperature-dependent mechanical and thermal properties will be considered. The modulus of elasticity and the thermal conductivity will be taken as linear function of temperature. A model of an infinite body with a cylindrical cavity has been solved when the interior surface of the cavity is subjected to thermal and mechanical shocks. A comparison will be made with the results obtained in the case of temperature-independent mechanical and thermal properties, and in the second model , we will consider an elastic medium with constant elastic parameters obey the governing equations of the two-temperature generalized thermoelasticity of Youssef model, assuming variable thermal conductivity with linear function in some range of the thermo-dynamical temperature without anybody forces or heat sources. We will discuss the thermal and the mechanical waves and show the effects of the thermal conductivity on all the fields.
