Abstract : The study of the coordination of some transition metals towards some derivatives of thiourea is of great importance, because of their applications in different fields such as in medicine and analytical chemistry, Thiourea and thioureas which containing several functional groups were used as ligands for the preparation of several complexes with transition metal , as also used as modifying ligands in the properties of some complexes of Pt(II) and Pt(II) hopefully used as drugs in the treatment of malignant tumors , in order to fine tuning in the chemical and physical properties of these complexes and thereby influence both the target selection and the reactivity of the metal ion in association with the target . This research is aimed at studying the relational behavior of some new thiourea derivatives which prepared from the reaction of isothiocyanat derivitives with some pyrimidine derivatives with the eight- transition group metals by using a spectral and electrochemical methods of analysis , as well as thermal analysis methods . This study has gone through a series of steps started with the preparation of some thiourea compounds containing pyrimidine ring and characterized by elemental analysis and spectroscopic methods such as infrared ,nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectra . secondly , some solid complexes of Ni(II), Pt(II) and Pd(II) ions with these thiourea ligand were prepared in 1:1 and 1:2(M:L) molar ratio and characterized by elemental analysis ,electrical conductivity , magnetic moment and by various spectral measurements such as : infrared , UV ,mass and nuclear magnetic resonance spectra. the thermal behavior of some of these metal complexes were studied by differential thermal analysis(DTA) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).
