Abstract : This study aims to explore and discovering the types of nurse-doctor relationship based on the social and culture factors in Saudi society .It is based on a social survey to collect field data. It also aims at finding out the social and culture factors that effect on the relationship and discovering the negative and positive aspects in nurse-doctor relationship. The field study was conducted on a sample of 150 Saudi female nurses , 110 Saudi male doctors and several conclusions were drawn , the most important of which clarifies that the main control of nurse-doctor relationship is self – censorship . the study found that the nurses and doctors agreed that the role of the nurse is doing what is required from her with the submission of comments and suggestions if it`s needed. the study showed no effect of (work place– the social situation of nurses – wearing veil and society`s view) on nurse-doctor relationship. Mean while the study showed significant effects for (nurse age – doctor age – nurse qualifications – experience – work pressure and frequent shifts) on nurse-doctor relationship. the study also showed that there are positive aspect in nurse-doctor relationship, the most important of it are doctor`s support, providing scientific advice, knowing the culture of Saudi society by nurses and easy dealing with Saudi nurses. On the other hand the study showed that there are negative aspects in nurse-doctor relationship. the most important of it are non – recognition of the doctors that work of nurses are complementary to their work , doctors preference to work with foreign nurses, the lack of training of nurses and nurse`s unwillingness to work .
